RagnoCose presents Soft Metal, a group exhibition bringing together contemporary designers from different countries and cultural backgrounds, each working with metal through distinct approaches.
Some engage with the material through precision and construction, others explore its capacity to generate atmosphere through light and reflection, while others investigate its role within systems, structures, and reconfigurable forms. In other cases, metal becomes a vehicle for narrative, evoking organic movement and processes of transformation.
The exhibition offers a layered reading of metal, where diverse approaches come together to expand its possibilities, between structure, function, and more open forms of expression.
During Milan Design Week, RagnoCose aims to be a platform dedicated to showcasing contemporary designers, offering a curated selection of objects chosen for their design and expressive quality.
Arc Annex, Anoe Melliou, 2025
Arc Annex is a series of minimal steel elements built around a curved structure that acts as both boundary and support. Cylindrical components, functioning as vases or candleholders, are magnetically attached along the curve, allowing for continuous repositioning and reconfiguration. The project explores the tension between stability and change, where form and function remain open and adaptable through a system of simple, interconnected parts.

Genio table, Chris Fusaro, 2026
The structure is formed through precision laser cutting, allowing the steel tubes to bend to a controlled radius and connect at 45° angles. This creates an angled support that holds the beveled glass surface flush within the frame, producing the effect of looking through a window. The glass component required a highly specialized process: the rounded, beveled edges were achieved through a manufacturer typically working on high-performance automotive glass.

Natrix Natrix bar cabinet, Mantas Lesauskas, 2025
Part of the Slipcover collection, this sculptural cabinet combines function and narrative, evoking the sinuous form of the grass snake (Natrix natrix). A perforated aluminum mesh curtain simultaneously reveals and conceals its contents, creating a tension between visibility and obscurity. The cabinet stands on a cast aluminum base composed of intertwined, digitally manipulated snake forms. Referencing the shedding of skin, the piece explores themes of transformation, concealment, and exposure.

Casted lamp series, Sigurd Nis Schelde, 2026
Part of an ongoing series, these lamps explore the relationship between light, material, and form. Cast in pewter—a metal historically positioned between craft and industry—the objects move between sculpture and function. When unlit, they read as quiet, self-contained forms; when illuminated, they activate their surroundings through reflections and shadow, extending their presence beyond their physical scale. Each piece is hand-cast, resulting in subtle variations that emphasize the material and process.
